Brochure Marketing

Do’s and Dont's of Brochure Marketing

As with any other form of marketing used in real estate and all other business models, brochure marketing should be strategically planned and well thought out before it’s executed. A well thought out brochure can be a very valuable asset to any company’s service or product.

Here’s a list of what you should and shouldn’t do or expect out of your brochure marketing.

Do’s of Brochure Marketing

DO give your brochure a purpose – design your brochure with a specific intention in mind. Whether it’s branding a new product or creating awareness of a service you offer, be specific and always request a call to action. “Call Today!” or “Visit us online at…” are a couple of examples. Real Estate marketers can focus on just listed or just sold announcements to cause a buzz on the success of your company.

Do give your intended clients a reason to call – keep your target audience in mind and give them a reason to contact you. You can offer a limited time discount, or you can simply leave the information they need out. Like prices, for instance. You can give them all the information they want to hear, and when they’re wowed by your wordage, get them to call for the price. If you’re using limited time offers, be cautious not to apply too much pressure with your words, but instead, focus on sweetening up the offer to make them desire to act now. “Call before (date) and receive (bonus) for free!”

Design the cover to “POP” off of the display – the front cover of your brochure is the most valuable part of it’s design. It’s going to determine whether a potential client glances or stares at your marketing material and whether or not they’re going to pick it up.

Use full Color Graphics – especially on the cover. Again, an attractive, full-color brochure will always attract more attention than it’s duller conterparts.

Be Informative, but Keep It Simple – Give the information in easy to understand writing. Unless you’re catering to highly educated scholars, try to avoid any language that can potentially cause confusion or make your potential clients feel uneducated.

Dont's of Brochure Marketing

Don’t try to do it all yourself – while you may have a way with words, hire a professional to tweak your content. Verbiage can be very powerful . Creative, strategic writing can drastically improve the results of your efforts. If you're a real estate agent, your time is very valuable. Invest your time in following leads and closing deals. Leave the design to the designers.

Don’t proof read it yourself – get a fresh set of eyes to go over your content once it’s been completed. A fresh set of eyes will catch those hidden typos that your eyes may have become accustom to.

Don’t print your own brochures – save your inkjet printing for birthday invitations and letters. Brochure printing is affordable. Your brochure is meant to represent your company. A cheap brochure reflects poorly on your image.

Don’t expect your brochure to close a sale – brochures are just a small part of your marketing efforts. They make a great addition to your team, but don’t expect it to close a sale. Always have human resources available to receive calls and requests. Closing should be done by a human being, not a piece of paper.

These tips should have you well on your way to producing a quality brochure that will make a great addition to your marketing campaign.

The business cards that Dan designed were perfect. We are so excited that my husband's new career is being supported by such a nice card. The colors were great and the illustrations were exactly what we needed to represent his line of business. - Thank you Madeline
